The Jig Is Up
By Ahneeta Cracker
June 26, 2005

The quiet peace of Coupedeville was shattered early this morning by the return of our very own public menace, Puffy Chicken.

The entire town had relocated to a place of safety, thanks to Captain Inevitable; however, our safety only lasted for about a month. Just as people were beginning to relax for the evening, Puffy Chicken stepped off a bus in the center of town and immediately began his reign of terror by “smiting” three adolescent boys in the rear with rubber bands.

According to witnesses, the boys were engaged in a street-play reenactment of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, also known as How You Like It. All three boys were involved in a dramatic duel scene when Mr. Chicken appeared.

The boys were treated for mild bruising and swelling before being released from a local emergency room. They are expected to make a full recovery.

Have no fear, good citizens! I, Puffy Chicken, have found you at last and will restore the common good to Coupedeville.

It has taken me weeks of searching, but I finally discovered where that evil-doer Captain Inevitable had hidden you. He thought he was being clever by hiding the town in the cauldera of an extinct volcano, but I have found you nonetheless!

Now, vengeance shall me mine!!

Captain Inevitable! You foul evil-doer! Show yourself!
