The Rubber Band of Righteousness© is the product of a late-night RPG (AD&D, first edition, specifically) gaming session. After many hours of fighting imaginary beasts and bad guys, consumming mass-quantities of caffeine-laden soft drinks and sugary confections, a lack of sleep, and having one of my highest-level characters (a 20+ level cavalier in full-mithral-plate armor) killed for the second time -- in one night...while protecting her coward of a leige lord...from the second dragon attack of the evening -- I found a discarded rubber band and wrote "The Rubber Band of Righteousness" on it. At that point, I threatened to "smite" the Dungeon Master...from a distance, of course...with it if she made us fight yet another dragon. A new weapon against evil was born. The Rubber Band of Righteousness© has now become a symbol of artistic freedom and a "warning" to all who would steal or misuse copyrighted material on the internet and in print. The Rubber Band of Righteousness© is swift and harsh in its retribution. Do not risk being smitten by this most terrible of righteous weapons.
